Couple of Updates & tons of photos

First of all - today is the last day to enter my giveaway by commenting on this post. Winner will be announced on Monday morning. Good Luck!

What is this you ask???? It's my daughter's STRAIGHT A Report Card!!! How 'bout them apples?? I'm so proud of her! Way to go Emma.
Malek's birthday Tuesday night was alot of fun. We started the evening off at Olive Garden, where he dined on Mac & Cheese, breadsticks, olives and giant cupcake-birthday cake. Here he is all dressed up ready to go.
Making his grand entrance... Olives....his new FAVORITE FOOD! Even figured out how to put them on his fingers all on his own.Sister was more than happy to help him blow out the candle.Finger lickin' good!

Very rare family photo of us all together.

Then Wednesday came and it was haircut and dr checkup day. First we headed to Cool Cuts for Kids to get Malek's hair trimmed up a bit. Not that I don't LOVE his curls, it's just I'm a little tired of him being mistaken for a girl. Didn't think it would bother me that much, but sometimes when he's obviously dressed in "boy" attire, it's makes me a little bummed, like I'm not doing my job good enough to make him look like a boy. Mainly I wanted to have his hair trimmed up on all sides so it matched. The sides and top grow at a MUCH faster rate than the rest of his hair. Now his hair is all the same and his bangs won't constantly be in his face!

This was Amanda who cut his hair and was so sweet and did such a great job. Malek totally loved sitting in the car.

Then we went to the doctor....dun..dun..dun... not.FUN.AT.ALL. This is Malek laying (attempting to) on the scale so the nurse can get his weight. Guess he's going to have to move to the standup scale next time.

Then he got 5, FIVE, F.I.V.E, 1-2-3-4-5!! SHOTS!!! WTH! One of which was the 2nd round of his H1N1. Now he's totally protected from the flu. I hope. Even though he's already had the Swine Flu - twice. He was a real trooper though. Couldn't bear putting his clothes back on him so he just rode home pantless, sockless and shoeless. He loved it. They must have been pretty strong, because he's been a little cranky the past couple of days. Then again, he did just cut his 8th tooth! Crazy I know!

So his final stats for his 1 year checkup:
weight - 23 lbs 8 oz
height - 30 1/4 inches
and as I said - 8 Freaking Teeth!

Take care wherever you are and have a great weekend! It's cold and raining here in the big state of Texas!

Stay tuned for details......In celebration of this little one's FIRST BIRTHDAY next Tuesday the 26th, I'm hosting a giveaway! There will be a couple of different ways to enter so check back on Tuesday for all the deets!

I'm so excited, I can hardly stand myself!!!

A little braggin'

Check out who's Valentine Scarf is on the front display table....MINE!!...Super cute, huh? This was just one of the few little goodies that I dropped off at Miscellaneous in Grapevine over the weekend.

I also dropped off some more Dallas Cowboy Tag Raggies. They seemed to be a hot seller in the past few weeks. Here's one in the FRONT WINDOW!! (giddy little laugh) Stinks that the Cowboys didn't win, but I'm sure there are still some die hard fans out there that would love to have one of these for their babies to gnaw on. Makes a great teether or lovey. Hate how you can see my reflection in the window - oh well, I never claimed to be a professional.

Also over the weekend, while Emma was at a sleepover at her Grandpa's house, Malek and I went to visit my grandmother. I make it a point to take pictures of the kids with her at each visit. I just love my Mamie and Malek does too. LOVES to chew on her oxygen tube.....
Not walking on his own but will walk with Mamie's walker! Crazy kid.
I just love the angle on this picture. A span of 4 generations, 83 years apart. Amazing.

Have a great HuMp DaY!

Movie Obsessed

This movie has gotten me through alot of late night sewing projects, and by alot, I mean oh - watching it over and over for the past month. It's like it's the only movie in my collection right now. I watch/listen to it while I sew late at night after the kids are in bed. When it's over, I rewind it and watch it again. It usually helps me gauge time. Once the movie is over, it's time to go to bed! Just as good as a clock most days.
What movie has the same hold on you? Inquiring minds want to know.

More Scarves....

Thanks to Miss Emma for modeling my newest scarves available this weekend over in Grapevine's Miscellaneous on Main Street. Once I get enough stock in that store, I might even add a couple to my etsy store!
Have a good one! It's almost Friday People!!!

My new passion

How cute is this? I stumbled upon a link to the tutorial over at Quilt Dad's blog where he had a link to a super simple tutorial for this scarf. Go check it out. I'll post more pics of the ones I make. Going to include them at the little shop in Grapevine where I have other crafty goodies on consignment. Here is the first one that I made for my good friend Roxann. When I saw the fabric, it just screamed her name.

I've made a couple of other ones that are reversible for Valentine's Day that are super cute and some that are football themed for the city's local high school team.
